Investigators Dig Beneath Warner Robins Shed in Search for Man Missing Since 2021

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – Investigators excavated the backyard of a Warner Robins home this week after receiving information that the body of a man missing for five years may have been buried beneath a storage shed.

No human remains were found.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office said its Criminal Investigations Division received information about two weeks ago concerning the disappearance of Dustin Randy Wallace, who was reported missing in September 2021.

The information indicated Wallace’s body might have been buried beneath a storage shed at a residence in the 1100 block of Collins Avenue in Warner Robins.

Investigators began working to corroborate the information and brought in canine teams trained to locate human remains. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the dogs showed interest in and around a storage shed in the backyard.

Based on the information investigators had received and the response from the canine teams, authorities obtained a search warrant for the property surrounding the residence.

On Monday, Sept. 21, investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, began excavating portions of the backyard around the shed.

After an extensive search, investigators found no human remains and no evidence indicating a body had been buried in the areas they excavated.

Wallace’s disappearance remains an active investigation.

“We recognize the uncertainty they have endured since his disappearance, and we remain committed to seeking answers,” Houston County Sheriff Matt Moulton said of Wallace’s family. “We will continue to search for Dustin Wallace and pursue any credible information that may help us determine what happened to him.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Houston County Public Works Department assisted with the search.
