Woman Sentenced to 25 Years After Luring Man to Peach County Hotel for Armed Robbery

PEACH COUNTY, Ga. – A 28-year-old woman has been sentenced to 25 years after prosecutors say she lured a man to a hotel room where three armed men ambushed and robbed him before she drove the getaway vehicle.

On August 4, 2026, 28-year-old Destiny Boatman please guilty to Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Entering an Automobile. A judge sentenced her to 25 years, with the first 10 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Boatman’s plea came as her case was preparing to go before a jury. Jury selection began Aug. 3 and continued into the evening. It was scheduled to resume the following morning when Boatman instead entered a blind guilty plea, meaning there was no negotiated sentencing agreement with prosecutors.

The case stems from an armed robbery on Sept. 1, 2024, at a hotel on Watson Boulevard.

Warner Robins Police officers were initially dispatched to a home in Kathleen regarding the robbery. Their investigation determined that Boatman allegedly helped co-defendant Malik Grubbs and two other men rob a male victim whom she had lured to the hotel.

Victim Ambushed After Entering Hotel Room

According to prosecutors, Boatman answered the hotel room door and allowed the victim inside.

Once he entered, Grubbs and two other men allegedly ambushed him at gunpoint and took his cellphone, wallet and firearm.

Surveillance video showed the men forcing the victim from the hotel room and taking him to his truck, where they searched for additional valuables, according to prosecutors.

After the robbery, the three men entered a vehicle driven by Boatman and fled, leaving the victim behind in the hotel parking lot.

Boatman later gave investigators a statement placing herself at the scene when the robbery occurred.

“Destiny Boatman used a vulnerable moment to set a trap,” Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney Anita Howard said. “She lured a man into a hotel room, let armed accomplices ambush him, and then drove the getaway car while he was left robbed, abandoned, and terrified in a parking lot.”

Howard described the robbery as a “calculated setup” rather than a crime of opportunity.

Grubbs’ case remains pending, and prosecutors said he will be tried separately at a later date.
