Traffic Stop in Hart County Leads to Major Meth Trafficking Arrest

HART COUNTY, Ga. – A traffic stop in Hart County led to the seizure of nearly 20 ounces of methamphetamine and the arrests of three people on trafficking charges, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began July 16 when a Hart County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle on Georgia Highway 8/U.S. Highway 29 near Ginn’s Pool Road after observing the driver speeding and failing to maintain his lane.

According to investigators, the driver, 38-year-old Bradley Scott Causer of Commerce, appeared unusually nervous during the traffic stop. A sheriff’s K-9 was deployed to conduct a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics, giving deputies probable cause to search the vehicle.

During the search, deputies recovered approximately 19.5 ounces of methamphetamine, diazepam, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana and a large knife.

Investigators also determined that Causer was on felony probation for previous drug-related offenses at the time of the stop.

Causer was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, drugs not in the original container, speeding and failure to maintain lane.

As the investigation continued, detectives developed additional leads that resulted in the arrest of 44-year-old James Nolan Dickerson of Hartwell, who was charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Investigators also obtained a trafficking methamphetamine charge against 36-year-old Jennifer Rose Brown of Hartwell.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office said additional arrests or charges are possible as detectives continue investigating the case.
