GBI Executes Search Warrant at Baxley Home Center in Multi-State Fraud Investigation

BAXLEY, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has executed a search warrant at a Baxley business as part of a complex fraud investigation involving multiple states.

According to the GBI, agents, along with local and federal law enforcement partners, served the search warrant July 16 at Yurezz Home Center in Baxley. The FBI’s Savannah Resident Agency is assisting with the investigation.

The search follows the July 8 arrest of 42-year-old Richard Altman of Baxley, who is a co-owner of Yurezz Home Center.

Altman was arrested by the Appling County Sheriff’s Office on charges originating in Louisiana prior to the execution of the search warrant.

Because of the scope of the investigation, the GBI is asking anyone who believes they were defrauded by Yurezz Home Center or did not receive goods or services they purchased during 2025 or 2026 to contact investigators.

The agency is collecting information from potential victims through its See Something, Send Something mobile app, by phone at 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), selecting Option 2, or through the GBI’s online tip submission portal.

Investigators are asking anyone submitting a complaint to include their name, contact information and a brief description of the issue.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
