Two Arrested in Connection With Columbus Drive-By Shooting; More Arrests Possible
COLUMBUS, Georgia – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred early June 1 in Columbus, according to police.
Officers with the Columbus Police Department responded at approximately 1:43 a.m. to the 5200 block of Hamilton Road after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim’s condition was not immediately released.
The department’s Violent Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and subsequently identified two suspects.
Authorities arrested Ronald Forsyth and charged him with:
- Drive-By Shooting
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Reality Forsyth was also arrested and charged with:
- Drive-By Shooting
- Aggravated Assault
Police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the relationship between the suspects and the victim.
The Columbus Police Department said the investigation remains active and additional arrests are pending.
Investigators also credited the department’s Fugitive Unit and Special Operations Unit for assisting with the case.
