Woman in Critical Condition After Domestic Shooting in Macon

MACON, Ga. — A woman is in critical condition following a shooting during a reported domestic dispute Tuesday afternoon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched just before 5 p.m. on May 5 to a residence in the 1500 block of Westminster Drive after receiving a call through the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center.

When deputies arrived, they found a 24-year-old female inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Authorities said the shooting is believed to have occurred during a domestic dispute.

A 29-year-old male was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning in connection with the incident. No charges have been announced at this time.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
