Attempted Robbery Turns Violent in Home Park Area

In the early hours of March 17th, 2024, Atlanta police officers responded to a distress call reporting a shooting incident at 980 Howell Mill Rd, situated in the Home Park area. Upon reaching the scene, authorities discovered that the victim had been privately transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

After relocating to Grady, officers were able to meet with the victim to gather more information. Initial investigations suggest that the victim was accosted in the parking lot of the incident location by assailants wearing ski masks. The suspects demanded the victim’s belongings in what appeared to be an attempted robbery.

However, the situation escalated when the victim refused to comply and instead revealed a firearm, firing towards the suspects. In retaliation, the suspects fired back, striking the victim. Subsequently, they fled the scene in a silver sedan.

The investigation is ongoing.
