Police Seek Person of Interest After 75-Year-Old Man Shot in Brookhaven Parking Lot

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest following a weekend shooting that left a 75-year-old man injured in a shopping plaza parking lot.

Officers responded around 9:52 a.m. on March 22, 2026, to Cherokee Plaza at 3871 Peachtree Road after receiving a call transferred from the Atlanta Police Department. Upon arrival, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Brookhaven Police Department has released photos and video of a person of interest described as a possible white or Hispanic male. Authorities said he was last seen wearing a black hat, blue jacket, and dark pants, and carrying a black tote bag with tan straps.

The investigation remains ongoing.
