Two Shot in Related Incidents in Atlanta; Suspected Aggressor Arrested
Early this morning, on March 15th, 2023, Atlanta police responded to two separate shooting incidents, both believed to be connected, leaving two males injured.
The first incident occurred around 6:00 am at 3208 MLK JR. Dr., where officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the knee. The victim was conscious and breathing and was swiftly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Shortly after, officers received another call regarding a shooting at 242 Napoleon Dr. Upon arrival, they discovered a male with a gunshot wound to the head. He was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Initial investigations suggest a link between the two incidents. The victim at the MLK JR. Dr. location was reportedly working security when a male suspect entered the premises, brandishing a firearm. A struggle ensued, resulting in the victim being shot in the knee. However, the victim managed to disarm the suspect and return fire, injuring him.
The wounded suspect then fled the scene but later called 911 for assistance. Following a thorough investigation, authorities determined that the injured suspect was the primary aggressor in the altercation. He has since been arrested and is currently in Grady Detention.
Charges against the suspect and further details regarding his identity are pending as the investigation unfolds.
