Man With Machete Arrested Outside Langston Road Elementary in Perry
PERRY, Ga. — A man armed with a machete was arrested Friday morning, March 13th, outside Langston Road Elementary School in Perry, according to local authorities.
Houston County 911 received a call around 6:30 a.m. reporting a man with a machete beating on a door at the school.
Perry police officers responded and located the suspect, who was still in possession of the weapon. Officers took the man into custody without incident and identified him as Cody Alley.
Officials said there were no students at the school at the time. Custodial staff members were on campus preparing for a field day event, and no one was injured.
Alley was charged with possession of a weapon on school property, disrupting or interfering with a public school, and criminal trespass. He will also be evaluated as to his mental health.
