Illinois Man Arrested in Early-Morning Homicide at Midtown Atlanta Recording Studio

ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta police have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning on Trabert Avenue in Midtown Atlanta.

Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department Homicide Unit identified and arrested 28-year-old Eris Neal of Westchester, Illinois, in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred Jan. 31, 2026, at Super Sound Studios located at 588 Trabert Ave. NW.

Neal was taken into custody and transported to Atlanta Police Public Safety Headquarters for questioning and processing before being booked into the Fulton County Jail. He is charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Police said Neal has two prior criminal cycles involving marijuana possession and carrying a loaded weapon without a permit.

According to preliminary information released by police, officers responded to a shots-fired call at approximately 3:17 a.m. at the Trabert Avenue location. When officers arrived, they found a male victim seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers attempted life-saving measures until Grady emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. Despite those efforts, the victim was later pronounced dead at Grady Hospital by medical staff.
