Man Killed, Teen Critically Injured in Hardwick Drive Shooting in Macon

MACON, GA – One man is dead and a teenager is fighting for his life after a shooting late Friday night, January 16th, inside a residence on Hardwick Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Hardwick Drive at 8:50 p.m. after the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center received a report of a person being shot. When deputies arrived, they found an unidentified adult male unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley. He was later identified as 19-year-old Dantwan Wynes.

A second victim, a 19-year-old male, was found nearby suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to a local medical facility, where he is listed in critical, but stable condition, officials said.

During the investigation, Violent Crime Investigators were able to identify 18-year-old Zay’vion Ni Seah Dajour Jackson of Macon as a suspect in connection with the death that occurred on Hardwick Drive. Jackson was transported to Investigations Headquarters by family. After further investigation, Zay’vion Jackson was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Jackson has been charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery, three counts of Aggravated Assault, and Felony Murder. He is currently being held without bond.

The incident is still under active investigation, pending additional charges.
