15-year-old Arrested for Murder of Woman After Deadly Robbery in Macon

MACON, Ga. – A 41-year-old woman was shot and killed Thursday afternoon during an attempted robbery in a Macon neighborhood, and a 15-year-old juvenile has been arrested and charged in connection with her death, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of Adams Avenue at approximately 3:55 p.m. on January 15 after the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center received a report of a person shot. When deputies arrived, they found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was later identified as India Norwood Davis, 41. Paramedics responded to the scene, but Davis succumbed to her injuries. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones pronounced her deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Following an investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit, detectives identified a 15-year-old male juvenile as the suspect. Investigators determined the shooting occurred during an attempted robbery that escalated into deadly violence.

The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center, where he was charged with felony murder and armed robbery.
