McDonough Man Arrested in Norcross Sting After Soliciting Teen Online

NORCROSS, GA – A 36-year-old Henry County man is behind bars in Gwinnett County after an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. Jonathan Dismang, of McDonough, was arrested on Friday morning, January 9, 2026, when he allegedly arrived at a pre-arranged location to meet a child.

The Gwinnett County Police Department’s VICE Unit began the investigation on January 5, after Dismang began communicating with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl.

The Investigation and Arrest

According to police, Dismang engaged in explicit conversations with the individual he believed was a minor. Investigators stated that:

  • Digital Misconduct: Dismang allegedly sent explicit photographs of himself to the “teen” during their online interactions.
  • The “Meet-Up”: Dismang requested a physical meeting and traveled over 40 miles from his home in McDonough to a predetermined location in Norcross to finalize the solicitation.
  • The Takedown: VICE investigators were waiting at the scene and took Dismang into custody without incident as soon as he arrived.

Serious Felony Charges

Dismang was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he was officially charged with three high-level offenses:

  1. Use of Computer Service to Solicit a Child to Commit Illegal Acts
  2. Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony
  3. Obscene Internet Contact with a Child
