27-Year-Old Man Killed in Afternoon Shooting at Macon Gas Station

MACON, GA – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon at a Shell gas station in Macon.

Deputies were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station located at 100 South Heron Street near Eisenhower Parkway just after 3:00 p.m. following a call to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center reporting a person had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they found a male victim lying unresponsive on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel responded and provided aid before transporting the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Ahmad Shahid Roberts. According to the Bibb County Coroner’s Office, Roberts’ next of kin has been notified.

Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to determine what led up to the shooting. No additional details have been released at this time.
