Gunfire Erupts in Ongoing Family Dispute in West Atlanta

In the early hours of February 28, 2024, authorities responded to a shooting incident at 2299 Beecher Rd SW in west Atlanta. Upon arrival, it was revealed that the male victim had already left the scene and taken himself to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Initial inquiries suggest that the altercation stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the male victim and his ex-girlfriend. According to report, he confronted her and her family outside their residence. During the confrontation, the male discharged a firearm into the air.

Despite repeated requests for him to depart, the situation escalated when the mother of the ex-girlfriend discharged her firearm, striking the male aggressor.

Atlanta Police officers have apprehended the male involved, who is currently in custody at Grady Detention. Charges against him are pending as the investigation unfolds.
