Carrollton Woman Arrested for Armed Robbery After Investigation Links Her to Multiple Crimes
On December 4, 2024, at approximately 6:00 PM, Carrollton Food Mart, located at 699 Alabama Street, was the scene of an armed robbery. The suspect, wearing tan pants, a red sweatshirt, and a black ski mask, entered the store, purchased an alcoholic beverage, and then threatened the clerk at gunpoint. After stealing money and property, the suspect fled in a vehicle parked outside.
Through an intensive investigation, Carrollton police identified the suspect’s vehicle and traced it to its owner. Further investigation led officers to other individuals associated with the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and a residence connected to the owner uncovered key evidence, including the suspect’s clothing, the firearm used in the robbery, and other stolen property. The search also revealed clothing linked to a previous robbery at Mini Food Mart on Alabama Street in September 2024.
The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Jamecia Carr, a Carrollton resident originally from Opelika, Alabama. Carr was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
