19-Year-Old Arrested for Murder in Death of 17-Year-Old in Pelham, Georgia

On December 3, 2024, Terryon Maleek Martin, a 19-year-old from Pelham, GA, was arrested and charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During a Felony in connection to the October 30, 2024, shooting death of 17-year-old Kelvin Church. The incident occurred around noon at the intersection of Furlow and Jester Street, where Church was shot. He was transported to a local hospital but later died from his injuries on November 5, 2024.

The investigation led authorities to identify Martin as the suspect in the killing. On December 3, Martin was found hiding inside a kitchen cabinet at a residence in the 4000 block of Back Nine Road in Pelham, GA. The cabinet had been screwed shut to conceal him.

In addition to Martin’s arrest, his father, 39-year-old Terry Phillip Martin of Pelham, was also taken into custody. He was charged with one felony count of Hindering the Apprehension of a Fugitive. Both individuals were booked into the Mitchell County Jail.
