Gwinnett County Fire Crews Battle Two House Fires on December 2nd

On Monday night, December 2nd, Gwinnett County Fire crews responded to two separate house fires, keeping firefighters busy throughout the evening.

The first fire was dispatched at 6:28 p.m. on the 600 block of Old Hickory Lane SW in Lilburn. The fire displaced two adults, who were not home when the blaze began. One firefighter was treated for a non-life-threatening medical complaint on the scene and released, but no other injuries were reported. Fire investigators were unable to determine the cause of the fire.

Later that evening, at 11:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a second, unrelated house fire on the 1000 block of Amhearst Oaks Drive NE in Lawrenceville. The fire displaced six adults who were home at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Firefighters determined that the fire was accidental and started due to an issue with a fireplace.
