Mother of Three Fatally Shot at Columbus Housing Complex; Suspect in Custody

On October 31, 2024, Columbus Police arrested 28-year-old Dejahn Glenn in connection with the fatal shooting of Sekedra McCoy, 38, at a public housing complex on 200 20th Ave., East Canty Homes. The incident occurred the previous day, October 30, when McCoy, a mother of three, was shot multiple times. She was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Glenn has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit expressed appreciation for assistance from the Special Operations and Drone Units, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and the Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) for their rapid surveillance response in locating and apprehending the suspect.
