Suspect in September Fatal Columbus Hit-and-Run That Killed One Pedestrian Arrested

Following a month-long investigation, Columbus Police have arrested Christopher McNeil in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on September 20, 2024, at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 20th Street. Around 9:26 p.m., police responded to the scene, where they found two pedestrians who had been struck by a vehicle. One of the pedestrians, Robert Norman, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other sustained injuries.

Through their investigation, the Columbus Police Motor Squad identified McNeil as the suspect, and he was taken into custody on October 30, 2024. McNeil faces multiple charges, including Homicide by Vehicle (1st Degree) and Hit & Run, along with other traffic-related charges. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
