Gwinnett County Police Hunt for Suspects in Violent Duluth Home Invasion and Kidnapping
The Gwinnett County Police Department is actively seeking assistance to locate two suspects involved in a July 29 home invasion in Duluth. Officers initially responded after meeting with the victim at a local hospital, where he detailed the incident involving an associate, Jian Sun, 41, of Norcross, and an unidentified male later identified as Stephen Carlos Valenzuela, 24, of Atlanta.
According to the victim, Sun arrived at his home and, upon entry, he and Valenzuela allegedly assaulted and restrained him with zip ties. The suspects then forced the victim into the backseat of his own vehicle and drove to an auto shop in Chamblee, where he reported being further assaulted. While he was held at the location, the suspects allegedly returned to his residence and stole several items. The victim was later released with instructions to provide the suspects with money the following day.
Gwinnett County Police and their Crime Scene Unit have processed both locations, and arrest warrants have been issued for Sun and Valenzuela on multiple charges, including home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm during a felony.
