Suspect Arrested in Connection with Cube Smart Storage Burglary After Motorcycle Chase
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies have arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary at Cube Smart Storage on Pio Nono Avenue. The call reporting multiple break-ins came into the Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center on October 9, 2024, at 12:04 p.m. The burglaries occurred during a power outage caused by a recent hurricane.
On October 10, 2024, at 6:47 a.m., deputies spotted a man on a motorcycle without a license plate traveling south on Pio Nono Avenue. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the motorcyclist refused to stop, leading deputies on a short pursuit. The suspect lost control of the motorcycle and fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Deputies discovered burglary tools and items connecting the suspect to the Cube Smart Storage break-ins.
The suspect was identified as 42-year-old Thomas William Davis of Macon. Davis was taken to a medical facility for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. He was later transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on October 11, 2024.
Davis faces multiple charges, including Felony Second Degree Burglary, Felony Fleeing and Eluding, Misdemeanor Obstruction, Giving False Information to Law Enforcement, and Possession of Tools for Commission of Crime. His bond has been denied.
