Female Suspect Arrested After Firing Gun Near Downtown Macon Sidewalk

Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (S.R.T.) apprehended a 26-year-old woman early Saturday morning after she was reported firing a gun near a crowded sidewalk in the downtown area.

The woman, armed with a Glock, was found hiding in a nearby alleyway. Upon spotting the deputies, she attempted to discard the firearm by throwing it into a dumpster and fled on foot. However, law enforcement quickly apprehended her.

She faces multiple charges, including felony obstruction of law enforcement officers (two counts), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a weapon on or near a public highway or street, and reckless conduct. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
