Two Innocent Bystanders Injured in Separate Atlanta Shootings

On September 29, 2024, two separate shootings in Atlanta resulted in innocent bystanders being injured during disputes they were not involved in.

The first shooting took place around 5:34 PM at 12 Atlanta Ave SE. Atlanta Police officers arrived on the scene and found a male victim with a gunshot wound to his hand. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was caught in the crossfire during a dispute between two groups of males. It is believed that the victim was not directly involved in the altercation. The investigation into the circumstances of the dispute is ongoing as officers continue to gather more details.

The second shooting occurred less than 30 minutes later, around 6:00 PM, at 600 Greensferry Ave SW. Officers responded to the location and located another male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was also transported to the hospital for medical care. Investigators determined that the suspect exited a white Jeep and fired shots at a group of juvenile males during a verbal altercation. The victim, who was not associated with either group, was struck by a stray bullet. Authorities are still investigating the exact circumstances and are working to identify the suspect and any potential motives.

Both incidents remain under active investigation.
