Dalton Police Investigating Suspicious Death of Woman Found Unresponsive in Home
The Dalton Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of a woman found unresponsive in her home on Tuesday. While foul play has not been ruled out, it is not necessarily suspected at this time. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is assisting with the case.
Emergency services were dispatched to 1608 Rio Vista Drive shortly before noon after a friend of the resident called to report the woman was unresponsive. Upon arrival, Dalton Fire Department and Hamilton EMS requested police assistance due to the suspicious circumstances. Officers found the woman in her bedroom, and she was transported to a regional hospital, where she later passed away.
The cause of death remains undetermined, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9-280.
